WATER COOLING GENERAL TECHNICAL QUESTION.I just sold my 1985 911, and now I'm shopping for a 996. I wanted a larger interior, and more power.I've heard the reasons why Porsche went over to a water cooled power plant (ie. reduced emissions, noise, weight, and increase in power). My question is of a technical nature. How does the water cooled engine as opposed to the air cooled engine improve or allow these benefits in each one of these categories to occur? Also why didn't Porsche just use motor oil as the coolant fluid? One fluid rather than 2 would be simpler. The 996 front radiators seem large enough as opposed to my 1985 911 oil cooler.Where could I find thorough answers to my questions? Thanks.
