996 Tire Replacement and Ride Height

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Model: 992 C2; Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 66000;

I believe I've read all relevant posts re: tire replacement on a 1999 996 C2. Very impressed by all the thoughtful and expert advice given here, but a question remains.I'm currently running 225/40-18s in the front and 265/35-18s in the rear. If I were to stick with the 225s in the front (likely Porsche approved Michelins or Pirellis) and go with the 285/30-18 (which I'm leaning toward), wouldn't I effectively lower the rear of the car by 0.6" and leave the ride height in the front unchanged (if I have my diameters right)? Would that result in an odd looking setup and/or have any effect on driving dynamics? Follow-up question: Should I therefore go with the 235/35-18s in front to even it out, which I assume will fit and would also lower the front by 0.6"? Thank you.
