996 turbo stock wheel size/alterations

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Year: 2001; Engine (Size, Modifications): 3.6 turbo; Total Mileage: 6000;

My 2001 996 turbo came with 18" monoblock (stock) wheels with 225/40ZR18 (front) and 295/30ZR18 (rear) Pirelli P-Zero's. The local dealer where the car was purchased tells me that the wheels are designated as part number 993-362-134-06 (front) and 993-362-140-04 (rear). I would like to replace or refinish these original wheels with a set just like them, except I want the "high gloss" or "high-polished" look, or I want a set that have been chromed. I'm told that Porsche does not offer a high-gloss wheel that fits my 996 turbo, and that chroming the stock wheels will ultimately result in unsatisfactory service due to slow leaks (caused by the chrome flaking off of the contact surface where the tires seat against the rims).Can you advise me as to: (1)how/where I can get a high gloss (stock) wheel to fit my turbo, (2) is a chromed wheel likely to give poor service, and (3)if neither of these alternatives are practicable, exactly what designation will I need to use to identify an aftermarket wheel that would be the same size as the wheels that came on my car? I don't know how to be sure that the specs on available aftermarket wheels (such as the offset, rim width, bolt pattern/distance/size, etc. will all be correct to fit my car since I don't know what these values are for my existing (stock) wheels (and the dealer can't seem to tell me either).Thanks for your help. You guys on the Tech Committee have helped me several times in the past and your advice is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
