997 patched tire

Wheels and Tires

Vehicle Information: Model : Carrera 4; Year: 2006; Mileage: 2200;

I developed a slow leak from a nail and had the left rear tire patched at a local tire shop (I am a 1 hour drive from nearest Porsche dealer). They felt unsure about the success of their patch as it seemed to still leak at the time, however, so far it seems to be holding. A replacement Bridgestone Potenza 295/35ZR18 is currently not available anywhere in the U.S. They suggest a Michelin Pilot Sport with the same size specifications. Is it advisable to have 2 different rear tires? Should I stick with the current tire for a while if the pressure seems stable? I do not want to replace both rear tires as the car has only 2200 miles. Should I make the dealership deal with the problem?
