AC fan blower on 1979 930 Turbo

Heating and Ventilation

Vehicle Information: Year: 1979; Engine (Size, Modifications): 3.3 turbo; Total Mileage: 32K;

My AC blower makes a scraping sound as if part of the brcket is broken and the blades are scraping against the housing. This was represented to be an easy fix, so I ordered a new blower assembly to go inside the housing. In attempting disassemble the blower housing, I discovered that it was not just a blower housing, but rather an integrated part of the AC system with freon lines going into the housing as well. Can the blower assembly be replaced with removing the whole housing and without breaking the freon lines? If so, how is it done or is there a repair manual that can assist? Thanks!
