Air Box/Throttle Body

Vehicle Information: Model: 1978 SC engine; Year: 1975; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 175,000;

Second question on the airbox. I went to connect the throttle body today and suddenly realized that while the original plastic airbox had rececced nuts for the screws to connect to which would make the throttle body flush with the airbox, the new stainless stell one I had had the screw in locations sitting up about 1/4 of an inch thus making it impossible to get a seal between the throttle body and the airbox. I noticed a gluey rubbery substance on the airbox and what appeared to be the shape of a gasket/adapter which would help create the seal and bring the two parts together. Any help locatiing such a seal or do you suspect this was just something someone made?..thanks...Tito
