air conditioning evaporator as oil cooler

I am eliminating the air conditioning system on my car. Can the front air conditioner evaporator be flushed out, replumbed and remounted as an RSR type front oil cooler? It appears to be about the right size. Will it allow enough flow, and handle the heat and pressure of the engine oil system?
