Air intake trumpet and front ride height

Thanks so much for all the time you take to answer our questions, a great resource! If I may, I have a two-part question. First, in response to the the recent post about adding the Turbo intake snorkel, does removing the existing trumpet from inside the airbox lid cause any negative changes such as decreased intake velocity. Does it provide a velocity stack effect that would be lost with its removal? Second, I've noticed that the front springs on my 993 rest on a threaded collar on the strut tower, by lowering the collar I would lower the ride height. If I readjust the camber and toe-in, is this an acceptable way to get the front end down a little bit?
