Battery failure

Vehicle Information: Year: 2002 and 2001; Engine (Size, Modifications): 2002 996 TT; 2001 Boxster; Total Mileage: 2100 miles (for 996 TT), 4400 (for Boxster);

Greetings. I have a question that I don't seem to get good answers for out of my dealership.I don't put a lot of kilometers on my 2002 996 tt (3500 km in 13 months). I am aware of the issue that my battery can fail from lack of use. However, I use a trickle charger to keep it charged. Today, I discovered that my battery was dead when I wanted to take my car for a drive. To make matters worse, my Boxster (model year 2001) battery died as well and I drive that slightly more.My question is this: are Porsche cars more susceptible to this kind of problem? I have a Mercedes and a Lexus (also, both very low usage cars) and I don't have this problem.
