I purchased my car used so I am not sure if the Autolite battery in it is original. I removed the battery and noticed a short black hose coming out of the battery that I assume is a vent or overflow that was not connected to anything. After taking the battery out I noticed a clear hose with a 90 degree fitting on the end of it in the car in the battery location.I am wondering if the two hoses should be connected. I connected the two hoses with the 90 degree fitting to see but they would not stay connected without a clamp or zip tie to keep them connected. So I am wondering if the battery had been replaced or removed and the hoses were not connected back together. Your insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
