I just bought a battery maintainer to maintain a trickle charge to my battery for winter storage. The car will be stored for about 4-5 months. I checked to see if my lighter worked by just pushing it in and it did not. The car was not running, nor did I have the key in the ignition turned to accessory. I thought it may be a fuse, but that fuse also powers the wipers, which do work. Could the lighter be defective? Will my maintainer still work? I didn't want to try anything until I get a response from you. Also, the maintainer instructions say to use in a well ventilated area and you should have a sealed battery. How ventilated? And how do you see if your battery is a sealed type. I thought the maintainer was a great idea.....Now I think I should just disconnect the battery!! Thanking you in advance,Paul cancialosi
