Transmission and Clutch

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1984; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 95k;

All other gears are smooth to engage. Car currently has a Weltmeister ShortShift kit. When going to second, the shifter will hit a hard detent, and after a bit more force, will snick into gear (the same feel as if it is popping past hard plastic). No grinding or gear/transmission nonsense. Seems to occur more after warm up, but not necessarily. Have ordered a bushing kit and an OEM ShortShift kit (found one of the last ones out there), and am hoping this rectifies the problem. I have attempted to adjust the shift linkage, and does not seem to make a difference. Any thoughts on this, and if this may imply syncros are bad. Thanks,Dan
