Boost guage reading and changing oil return tubes


Vehicle Information: Year: 1987; Engine (Size, Modifications): 3.3 stock; Total Mileage: 23K;

The boost as indicated by the gauge in the lower part of the tach sometimes exceeds .7 and will exceed 1.0 (the numerical limit on the gauge) if I let it. The owners manual states that the fuel pump will shut off at a pre-determined value. Do you know what that value might be? Could I determine if the malfunction is in the gauge itself, the wastegate, or elsewhere and what would I have to do to correct it if it is not the gauge? Secondly, can you change all four oil return tubes without removing the exhaust?
