Boxster Jacking for Maintenance

Vehicle Information: Model (Boxster, Boxster S,Cayman, Cayman S): Boxster S; Year: 2003; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2 L w/ Sport Exhaust; Total Mileage: 21,600; Transmission: Tiptronic;

Jacking up the Boxster safely to four jackstands seems to be a dicey, controversial problem. The Bentley manual says to use the front floor structure on each side for the jack and the front jacking points for the stands. At the rear, it says to raise the car at the rear axle support and then put the jackstands under the rear jacking points.Other sources are different. What is your best advice?Also, there seems to be a small business in selling various jacking pads made of steel or hard rubber. What do you advise using?
