Brakes calipers sticking and loosing pedal from boiling over
Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1988; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 15,100;
I guess it's from sitting from low useage. When driving my 911 I feel the brakes dragging, I feel the car slowing down without touching the brake pedal. It got to a point last fall where I lost my brakes and the padal went to the floor and I had to use the handbrake to stop, till the fluid cooled down. I just bought new brake rubber hoses(maybe the rubber has broken down inside the hoses and will not allow all fluid to return and are holding the calipers back). I am installing them this weekend. I was told that I can shoot WD-40 or the like into the calipers and have someone work the pedal as the calipers can get rust on the center line inside the caliper. If I can repair the calipers I would rather do it that way. I am a member of the PCA for about 25 years now. Any advice please?ThanksJack Miller
