1992 America Roadster, history of top issues.Original owner replaced top motors / cables 2yrs ago He had to have them adjusted. in Mar 2009 as a result of misaligned closing (also resulted in need to replace top). There apparently was prior incident as well.Early last summer, after I purchased the car top during opening failed again....luckily I stopped the procedure without damaging the top / struts or braces. Realignment was completed at Porsche dealer. Now that summer is back top is going up & down regularly - but quite frankly based on OR's frankness that car has history of "top issues" and personal experience last yr. I long for manual operation. If I fully loosen the "lugnuts" in the backseat area to permit manual up & down of the top.....will the top motors that engage/lock/unlock the top to the windscreen still function?
