Cabriolet Emgine Mount Cross Bar Replacement

I have an 84 Euro 911 Carrera Cabriolet with the flexible center engine mount crossbar with the dampening strut. The shifter requires more effort to shift as the driving gets more spirited. When you shift, you pull back, come up against the gate and then pull again and you are into gear. The shifting has always been typical 915 baulky shifting, but has been worse lately. I was thinking of replacing the flexible cross bar with a solid one to limit the movement of the engine. I did just replace the engine and tranny mounts. I installed a factory short shift kit about a year ago with a new ball cup bushing. I plan to replace the shift rod coupler because it seems to have a little play. The clutsh and 1-2 synchros we replaced at 44k miles just before I purchases the car. What are your thoughts and what crossbar and engine bracket would I need. The car is mostly a pleasure car, but I do a few autocrosses each year.
