Cabriolet top

I have a silver cabriolet with a silver top. I took it to a detail shop for the usual and asked if they could do something to get rid of the brownish color on the top. What a mistake. They used a rotary brush on it and besides lifting some of the material making it look fuzzy, they left it streaked. Looks like a cheap suit with 3 in. wide stripes. They had no solution for the mess. And as you might figure they are gone. Question is, can the top be colored with a black dye? The car only has 60,000 on it and the top is in good shape. I hate to think of the cost of replacing it. Should I try to find a shop that might do that kind of work. My service shop has no recommendations. Any help at all would be welcomed. I'm in the DFW area. Thanks. Wayne Smith
