Cam Tower Seal 1978-1984

Engine

Vehicle Information: Year: 1978; Engine (size, modifications): 4.5; Total Mileage: 225000; Transmission type: Manual;

I have been told I have a cam seal leak on the driver's side of the engine. There is light oil on the body where the plugs are. The troth between the heads has developed a pool of oil in it. Wipe it up and it will ooze from the back of the engine toward the front. I have been told by 928 International that I do not have to pull the engine to replace the seal and gaskets. I have been told by other repair shops that I do. Does anyone know the true answer - pull or not pull to fix? I don't want to pull the engine for $25 in parts to be fixed. I lose about 1 qt of oil between oil changes. But the leak is getting bigger and I would like to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
