chain tensioner/cam cover gasket replacement

Engine

Model: 993 CAB, Year:1995, Mileage:63000, Type of use:Street use only
Joel, serveral members has asked about the oil tensioner/cam covers and oil leaks. Both covers are now "weeping" some oil on mine vehicle --1995 993 with 63K miles. You noted in one of your responses these gaskets can be replaced without removing the engine. Could you provide and overview of the procedure? It seems with the fit of the engine, access to the covers bolts is quit limited. It appears some disassemble of the engine mountings and connection to the transmission would be needed to give the engine a bit play to access the cover bolts. Can the work be done without going that far?Thank you for your comments
