Changing to Drilled Rotors on non S Boxster

Vehicle Information: Year: 1999; Engine (type, size, modifications): Stock 2.5 l; Total Mileage: 45,000; Transmission: Manual;

I will need to replace my brake pads, and possibly my rotors soon. I like the look of a drilled rotor, but I don't want to compromise the excellent stock system. Do you have any recomendations for doing this. Also I would like to switch to a quieter pad with less dust, again if proformance will not suffer. The car is my daily driver, but I am interested in a D.E. and an autocross in the future. Thanks
