Cleaning Calipers

Wheels

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera Factory Turbo Look; Year: 1984; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 43400;

I have a 1984 factory turbo bodied car with turbo brakes. The calipers are black with raised letters for the Porsche name. The letters look silver against the rest of the caliper which is black. I bought the car last year and it looks as though the calipers have never been detailed. There is a fair amount of dust and road dirt on them. Is there any safe way to aggressively clean the calipers without damaging them? Is the black color a paint or is it annodized metal? I have Fuchs on the acr and wanted to try to deatils the calipers without removing the wheel so any suggestions would need to be safe on the wheels. Thanks.
