Clear coat problem

Paint

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1973; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 110,000;

The prior owner of my 911T had the car re-painted and then installed an after-market exterior mirror. The mirror was apparently installed, however, before the clear coat was completely dry so its base produced an impression in the clear coat. I now want to reinstall the original mirror, but its base is smaller than the after-market one, so the impression in the clear coat is visible. How might I polish out or somehow get rid of this impression in the clear coat?Thanks very much. Ken
