Clutch Life

Transmission and Clutch

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 ; Year: 1984; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 40600;

Pending a pre-purchase inspection I anticipate purchasing a 1984 911 Cab with 40,600mi. The owner and shop where service has been performed for the last 4 years reports the car to be in excellent condition.From all the service receipts I have reviewed so far it appears that the car has been well cared for by capable mechanics. However other than shift rod coupling, linkage boot type repairs I find find no record of transmission or clutch repair. Is this normal, and what is the typical life of a clutch on this car? What should I plan on budgeting for clutch repair in the future? I plan on driving this car about 1500mi per year.Thank youBill
