Clutch Pedal

Model: 911SC, Year:1981, Mileage:NA, Type of use:Both Street & Track
I purchased a 1981 911SC that the previous owner put aftermarket parts in. My clutch pedal is hitting the Rennline floorboard. I am trying to determine if my clutch pedal needs to be going down further than where the pedal stops. I noticed there is a notch or groove out of the back of the clutch pedal, but I am having a hard time determining if that is normal for what seems to be a stock pedal or if the previous owner manually did this. I have considered cutting a larger notch into the floorboard cover. Someone mentioned that there used to be clutch pedal sensors to adjust how far the pedal goes back. Is it possible to have the pedal go too far down?
