Cold start problem

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 117,000;

I just got my engine back together, had been burning about a qt every 200 miles. New Mahle pistons/liners, valve job, new O2 sensor, new head temp sensor, plugs, wires, cap,rotor. Car runs great except cold start. Need to keep foot on the gas right after start when engine cold or it dies.(just for about a minute) Otherwise, smooth idle all conditions 8-900rpm, great power, no smoke. Only 100 miles on engine. Local Pcar guru says give it some time, possible the new ring liner combo very tight, and it will ease up after break in. He says if it idles nice everywhere else in the temp range, IAT and head temp sensors good, idle valve should be ok too. If he ISN'T right, where do I look next ? Thanks, Jeff
