conv top for 1988 911 cabriolet

Body and Interior

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 cab.; Year: 1988; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 6cyl; Total Mileage: 100k;

Hello!!I recently purchased a 1988 911 cabriolet. The previous owner claimed he did not have the top raised in 3+ years due to mechanical problems & only drove on sunny days.The previous owner had the canvas top replaced along with convert. top control arms-none of which cured theproblem- so he gave-up on fixing the power top & offered me a big discount from blue book. Luckliy, I have friend that owns a bodyshop w/a computer that shows some of the needed conv top parts. The porsche dealership sent us the wrong parts >cabriolet needed- not targa oops.(we ordered the right part numbers) So does any one have a book outlining the operation of the top. Looks like I am missing the top motors & all the latches. I really do not care if the top goes/ up/down with the power motors-I need the corect latches & repair manual. To make matters worse-looks like the previous owner had the wrong top bracket installed so the holes in the top do not line-up with the manual levers..does anybody have any used parts from a 88 conv 911?? thanks!!tom->>>> ANN ARBOR MICHIGAN
