coolant warning light

Model: 996, Year:2000, Mileage:115000, Type of use:Street use onlyI have a 2000 C2 Cab with 115k. Last week i found a puddle of antifreeze under the front passenger wheel. I had the car towed to my mechanic and they said the radiator needed to be replaced. In addition, they also said the auxillary tank needed replacement. Both were done but while driving home the coolant warning light came on. I called back any they say the sensor may have been faulty. My question - since the coolant light was not on previous to them performing the work, what would cause it to go bad now. The temperature readings are fine and the coolant level is at max. Eveything is running fine but the coolant warning light is flashing. Thanks for answering these questions. Been a member since 2003.
