Correct RPM at 60 MPH

Vehicle Information: Model: Carrera; Year: 1988; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2L Stock; Total Mileage: 102,000;

1988 Carrera 3.2L, 102K miles, stock engine, stock suspension, aftermarket 17 x 8 and 17 x 9 Turbo Style wheels. My question is, what should the correct RPM be in fifth gear at 60 M.P.H.? Currently it reads between 2900-3000 RPM and a fellow PCA'er thought that to be high. Might the speedo be bad or would the 17" wheels be a factor?Thanks
