cracks in paint

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1971; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 47,200;

I have my uncle's 1971 911T with 47,000 miles. Al Zims got all of the mechnical work done. The car was not drived for the past few years, before my uncle died at 94. The paint has numerous small scratches in it. I believe they go to the metal and each crack has a rust color. They are slowly growing. Is this a common problem on older cars? Will I have to have a complete repaint? The car has no rust in chassis, etc. according to Al. THANKS, Bobby
