Cruise Control

This is my first Porsche and I have been working through some maintenance issues in the two years I have owned it. I had the speedo repaired and I reinstalled it, but I notice a wire coming out of the harness directly behind the speedo. It has a stripped end that looks like it was pulled out of a connection. The wire is not long enough to be part of the speedo wires, it is blue with a white stripe. But my problem is the cruise control. Originally it would set then coast then accelerate then coast and so on. I found a used controller and installed it. Now it sets, and 10 seconds latter it slowly loses speed. I was thinking that this wire was somehow related to the cruise, now I am confused. Any thoughts, How can I find a wiring Diagram without buying the service manuals? Is it possible I put the wires on the speedo wrong and the loose wire is unrelated? Why two different results for two different controllers? I guess its possible they are both bad! Thanks, I feel lucky to have such a great resource like you for advice. Tim
