Cylinder head intake runner posts, 3 versus 4

Vehicle Information: Model (914/4, 914/6): 914/4; Year: 1975; Engine (type, size, modifications): Unknown; Total Mileage: Unknown, with approximately 28k on the last rebuild;

Yes please. This car was bought years (12) after a transition to carburetors project was started and lay dormant. A box equiped with 2 carburetors is present, however my desire is to install the 1975 FI again. The engine (still in place in the car) has cylinder heads showing 4 post intake flanges (diction?) instead of the 3 post shown in manuals for the 2.0 liter claimed displacement by the seller, a relative of the owner. Can I drill 2 holes in the intake runner to match the heads? Or is that a bad idea relative to trying to find 2.0 liter cylinder heads? I will soon be removing the engine as per valve springs, etc, in a dormant engine. Do you have input on my project? Thank you very much for your time and knowledge.Sincerely,Bob Decher
