Diagnosis assistance

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1984; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 102K;

This engine runs strong and remarkably does not even leak oil. However, recently it has began to develop a strange "stutter" during normal driving. It is a momentary cut-out when accelerating and then it immediately runs fine. Sometimes for many miles. Or it might not even occur at all on a short trip of 5 to 10 miles. It is not related to any particular gear or engine RPM nor does it appear to be related to engine temp. It has never happened while idling.I replaced the DME even tho I doubted it was the probelm since the engine never has quit or stopped completely. It did not cure the problem. I also checked all the hoses and connections on the FI unit.I am now thinking/hoping that perhaps something simple like the fuel filter could be the culprit and I have one on order.Any other suggestions/ideas for identifying the cause of the momentary cut-off of power will be greatly appreciated. BTW, this is a great service that you guys and the PCA provide. Thanx much.
