Door Pocket Trim

Hi John. The movable door pockets in my car are in very good condition. However, the aluminum trim across the top of the pocket keeps coming loose and I'm afraid it may catch on the side panel upholstery or on the door seal and really cause problems. I'm hesitant to just slap some glue in there and solve it once and for all, for if I ever have to undertake any restoration efforts in the future, I'll regret the once and for all approach. I've thought perhaps a small bead of black silicone window sealant along the inside of the trim channel would hold it in place, yet not completely harden so it could be removed in the future. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.
