Driver's Ed and My Car

There is a Drivers Ed event coming up in my area.  I just purchased my 911C4 a few months ago and would really like to put it on the track.  I have driven other's supercars on a track (F450) with automatic transmissions with an instructor present a few times and did very well, but have never driven a car on the track with a 6-speed.. I'm really looking forward to learning with my 6-speed.  I have not attended a PCA Drivers Ed yet.  I don't intend to make this a track car, I simply want to learn for my own benefit.

My question is about the car and tires.  My car came with Porsche rims and tires of the proper size, and the tires are like new.  It also came with extra Porsche rims and tires that do not match brand/tread pattern.  My first question is - how much wear can I expect on the car and tires in a Drivers Ed event (for a newbie driver)?  Should I put on the non-matching tread pattern worn set of tires?  My second question is in regard to the engine/bearings.  I have not replaced the IMS bearing yet, and I have 60k miles.  I know I need to replace it, but I'm waiting to do it when the clutch needs replaced.  Is it too risky to put this car on the track?  Keep in mind that I bought it to drive (and have already found the limit on the traction control on a curve), not just to have my wife yell at me for spending too much time in the garage staring at it like some creep at a swimsuit competition.

If these questions are better asked elsewhere, please feel free to let me know.
