Driver's Window Regulator

Body and Interior

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera Targa; Year: 1987; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2L ; Total Mileage: 56000;

A while ago the driver's side window started to move unevenly with the front edge of the glass jamming into its guide. I removed the door panel and found that the regulator pivot had sheared. (This pivot has the slotted end perpendicular to its opposite end). I currently have the panel off the door and can see the regulator mechanism. I have been following instructions from a Tech Article from Pelican Parts but, at this point, the instructions deviate from what I can see in front of me (they are written for a 1983 911SC) and I am not sure how to proceed. Do you have a procedure for removing the regulator in a 1987 Targa?... Or is there a way to replace the regulator pivot without removing the entire regulator/motor assembly from the door?
