Engine Conversion

Continuing with my 05.28.2011 inquiry, we now have a 2.54 L engine underway with 87.5mm (9.5:1) J&E pistons and a 70.4mm crank with 1966 solex cams ground at Elgin, also having a standard refurbished 1970 E mfi and standard 2.2 heads. Does this change your advice of leaving the 32mm dimensions of the head ports as well as the 32mm stacks and throttle bodies where they are, or could the headports be enlarged to 36mm for possible greater performance if the base of the throttle bodies are size matched to larger intake ports? This question arises because of the now larger engine with a greater commpression ratio. Also, would the E distributor have to be recurved? Again, all advice is greatly appreciated. Walt M
