engine miss

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1969; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 901/16, 2.2L, 2.2 P/C & heads, MSD ignition; Total Mileage: 210K;

Ed,Have an engine miss at all rpm's.The car had been running fine, moved it out of the garage. After turning on the ignition, the electric fuel pump was running continually indicating a stuck float. Tapped the carbs with a mallet and the fuel pump quieted down. On subsequent start the engine started missing. Since the spark plugs (Bosch W5DC) had 10K mi on them, decided to change them. After the plug change the miss was still there. A reading of the plugs showed #1 with black soot on it.Does this sound like a carb or an ignition problem? Also do you know the ohm spec for the spark plug connectors?Thanks for all the great information you provide.
