Engine problem

Vehicle Information: Year: 1978; Engine (Size, Modifications): 3.3L; Total Mileage: 78,000;

I am considering buying a '78 930 with 78K miles. The engine was rebuilt at 73K miles, and it all appears to be normal EXCEPT they put NEW RINGS on the old pistons, instead of doing new p/c. I have always thought that you were not supposed to do with a Porsche - that the rings will never properly seat. It was done by a Porsche shop. What are the short and long term ramifications of doing this?Thank you, Steve
