Engine Protection Plate

Vehicle Information: Year: 2002; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 4700;

I have a 2002 996 Turbo with the Bilstein PSS9 suspension which lowers the car about 1" from stock. I have read/heard about other 996C2 owners installing an engine protective plate in the event that their car bottoms out. When I checked with my local dealer, they informed me that there are three different plates (996-107-981-00, 996-106-903-00, 996-106-903-01) listed for model year 1999 only. They informed me that European 1999 996C2 cars were equiped with the plates from the factory whereas US 1999 996C2 cars were not. Do you think that any of these plates ,which were made for 1999 996C2, would fit on my 2002 996 Turbo? If it does fit, do you think I should install one, given that my car has been lowered? Does the fact that my engine block is different than 996C2 make any difference?
