Engine rebuild

Vehicle Information: Model: 911SC; Year: 1982; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 150;

I am keeping sc cams and cisI have an idea----- install dome Pistons 10.5 and machine the small end connecting rod back off the head to bring the compression back down to about 9.8-10.I am not going to double plug. I want an engine that will run on pump gas. If this idea can work, how do I know how far off center the rod should be machined to create the proper compression.How high can I go with compression?
