Engine rebuild or swap

Vehicle Information: Model: 911S; Year: 1967; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.0L; Total Mileage: 144k;

I am considering having the engine rebuilt this year. It is awfully hard to start when cold. I know a couple of cylinders are low on compression. I've replaced the carbs with PMO's, MSD ignition, and rebuilt the distributor. It runs very well when started and better when warm. But the hard starts are driving me crazy. It would be the first rebuild on the car. I am also considering buying another engine already rebuilt from a west coast engine shop. Since this is a '67 with factory sunroof and in mint condition, do you recommend spending the extra money on a local rebuild or having another engine with numbers that don't match? I'm gettin up in years and am not planning to sell the car for big bucks. Is it valuable enough to worry about the numbers?
