Engine Reseal

Vehicle Information: Model (914/4, 914/6): 914/4; Year: 1976; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1973 2.0; Total Mileage: 28,342 (?);

Ed, I did some more digging and the car is at my local Porsche dealer (Pepe). The Service Manager says that the engine is leaking in a half dozen places and needs to be resealed; otherwise the engine runs great. Based upon best information available, the top end of the engine was rebuilt by John Forbes from Black Forest Racing in Delray Beach, Florida in early 2004. Approximately 4,000 miles was put on the engine between then and July of 2005, which is when I bought the car. The car sat from July 2005 until September of 2007 when it began restoration with the restoration being completed in December 2007. I have two questions, should the engine need resealing if the information I received is true (the car effectively sitting idle for 4 years)? What do you think that the dealer should charge for the reseal assuming that nothing else is wrong?
