Engine - short cut-off of power

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carrera; Year: 1984; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2L; Total Mileage: 105,000;

Bonjour,About 3 weeks ago, I went on a 400 miles trip, I encountered strong rain throughout the day. It had been a long time that I had not driven in a such rain for 7 hours approx.After about 4 hours, I started noticing the engine was kind of cutting off for very short intervals (say less than a second). I was driving at 60 mph. I kept on driving but I would not have taken a chance at passing another car as I was unsure if power would be there. This lasted for about 15 minutes, on and off. Then it stopped and the trip went on correctly, with rain keeping on falling.On the return trip, weather was cloudy but no rain. This did not occur again, and has not happened again since. Nor did this happened to me before in 2 years, although it is true that I seldom take the car in rainy weather.Would you guess a cause for this. I am not worried as car is performing very well and I do not intend to take action, unless you suggest something wrong and important to correct is happening here.Thanks for your advice. JCFL
