Engine sound shield at cat

Vehicle Information: Model: 964 C2 Cab; Year: 1991; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.6 Liter; Total Mileage: 48K;

I just finished up my first valve adjustment and am in the process of putting things back together.What are you thoughts with the sound shields around the cat, the one between the cat and the spark plug wires? Would the wires be exposed to less heat or more? I have read some of the other posts, and it seems as thought the general recommendation is to removal all that stuff. This car is a garage queen, it will most likely never see rain and certainly not snow.Thanks in advance.Jeff
