Engine stutter, miss when warmed up

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 ; Year: 1988; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2 stock; Total Mileage: 169,000;

Hoping for quick fixes is a reality when one is neither a mechanic nor located in an area with Porsche-skilled techs. ...So always hoping, perhaps naively, for simple fixes. Recently my 911 has started running rough --sounds like 1, perhaps 2 cylinders not firing. But ONLY after engine warm. Fine when cold. I've got a distributor cap & rotor on the way. One Detroit iron mechanic said "Nah," your catalytic is plugged. (Catalytic is long gone.)And the guy who pumps my gas added a couple of cans of Heet and that DID reduce most of the stuttering.????Regards,Joe Holbert
