engine suddenly quits

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 SC; Year: 1983; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 42000;

This 911 has been very reliable until yesterday. The car had been idling for about 2 minutes, then unexpectedly stopped as if the ignition key had been turned off. No coughing or sputtering. It started immediately, and I drove about a quarter mile and again it just stopped. I drove back without a problem.Tonight I started to diagnose the problem, but the car idled fine for a good 15 mintues, and also ran a mile or so without problems.Alan Caldwell covered this subject on 9/11/2002 regarding a Carrera - noting that these problems are usually electrical or fuel. I had a very similar problem many years ago on my 914, where the fuel pump relay contact was corroded. But I am not very familiar with the 911 electrical system.Can anyone provide advice on this subject specific to the 911 SC? Thanks.
