Failure to start after being driven (short or long trips)

Vehicle Information: Year: 1997; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: approx 21,000;

In the past few weeks, I have experienced the car fails to start after I have driven it (as little as 2-4 miles) and stopped for an errand, gas fillup, etc. The engine cranks, but ignition does not occur. After it sits for a short period (10-15) minutes, it starts and runs fine. If I stall it, the same failure to start exists and I have to wait the 10-15 minutes. During the period I am waiting, I DO NOT repeatedly crank the engine; I wait patiently for the 15 minutes (it may be more than 15 minutes) to pass. I have experienced this failure to start 4 times in the past month. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
