front torsion bar adjustment

Suspension and Steering

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1986; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2 stock; Total Mileage: 106000;

I have removed the front torsion bar adjustment screws, after marking with paint to allow reassembly to the same spot, in order to replace the disinegrated foam gaskets under the adjusters. It turns out that the adjustment screws had been loctited in place (required heat to remove). This seems wrong to me since the Bentley manual says to lubricate them. Do they need to be loctited on reassembly?Also, I would like to raise the front just a touch (the car is lowered, not by me) because it just rubs on my driveway. Is it safe to assume that raising each side the same (say one turn) will not mess up the cross-weights too much?Thanks for your on-going help.Mike
