fuel leak

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911s; Year: 1973; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.7rs; Total Mileage: 113k;

My mechanic and I have been trying to trace a fuel leak without success. This shouldn't be that difficult but he couldn't find it the last time in the shop. He has checked all hoses back to the fuel pump and nothing. He let it idle he said for 30 minutes outside and nothing. I drove it home and didn't see any leaks. It sat for 2 weeks and when I started the car yesterday and backed it out in my driveway to warm up there it was. Fuel runing down the drivers side rear shock. I looked inside the engine compartment and didn't see any leaks. My driveway is steeply slopped probably 30 degrees and the rear of the car was on the downside if that matters. My mechanic did all his checking on a flat surface or on a lift if that matters. Thanks.
